Our Care Team

The alice chilton Care team sits right at the heart of our business. We have worked hard to bring together a special group of people who see their work as a vocation and are committed to making a difference to our client’s lives.

As you would expect there are safeguards in place to ensure that all our Care team and Personal Assistants are qualified to work within this sector. These include personal and professional references, enhanced DBS checks (Disclosure and Barring Service, previously CRB checks) and we check against the POVA list (Protection of Vulnerable Adults). We adhere to the local authorities’ safeguarding policies and we are compliant with the CQC (Care Quality Commission).

Recruitment & Training

We have a strict recruitment process, screening applications thoroughly and we look at a Carer’s life history so we can build up a picture of who they are and what type of support we feel they may excel in. Our in house team have many years’ experience in the recruitment and retention of quality Carers.

At alice chilton we ensure we provide our Care team with ongoing training and development, enabling them to provide our clients with safe, effective, high quality care. Before one of our Care team works in the community they must have shown that they have met certain standards, they are called ‘Common Induction Standards’.

We ensure these are met prior to the Carer working unsupervised. All of our Carers shadow one of our Care team prior to working alone.

Specialist Care

It is vital that when supporting clients with Dementia the Carer has the skills and knowledge required to create a positive and caring environment.

Our Registered Care Manager is qualified to ‘Train the Trainer’ in the following areas, Dementia, Life Story Work, Medication and Dignity in Care. She has also rolled out an Alzheimer’s training programme to Carers, enabling them to work with clients with Alzheimer’s and other Dementias.

alice chilton is committed to recruiting and retaining the very best Care team. As part of the alice chilton charter, our promise to our clients, we promise to be a good employer providing our staff with the knowledge, training and encouragement they need to provide a high quality service. We have also committed to pay above industry average rates and have recognition and reward programmes to ensure we retain the very best Carers.

We know this area is incredibly important to you, so if you have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will happily answer your query, alice chilton wants you to be 100% comfortable with our people and processes.
