Dementia is a word used to describe a group of symptoms including memory loss, confusion, mood changes and difficulty with day-to-day tasks. There are many causes of Dementia, with Alzheimer’s the most common. We have the knowledge, experience and training to put strategies and support plans in place to help individuals with Dementia, including Alzheimer's.

Learning that you or someone close to you has Dementia can be a shock. Our purpose at alice chilton is to provide practical, everyday support to help maintain quality of life together with social and emotional support. We understand that Dementia is progressive, and our Care team are trained to monitor and manage changing behaviours to ensure the best care for each individual.


Alzheimer’s is the most common form of Dementia, like all Dementia it is progressive. At alice chilton we have the experience within our team to provide the help needed in daily activities such as washing, dressing, and monitoring eating and diet. We know that everyone is unique, and people are not likely to experience Dementia in the same way, our trained staff recognise the needs of individuals and tailor their care accordingly.

A tailored Care plan may straddle Companionship, Home Help and Personal care. It will probably be necessary to be flexible and adapt to changing behaviours and needs. This is something that will be monitored by the alice chilton Care team.
